It seems that the ideas are the easy part. One of the reasons for this is that I have discovered the confidence to write at a late-ish stage and therefore have a huge backlog of suppressed ideas that never saw the light of day. What I find myself doing now is dredging up the most prominent of these (not the best – just the best remembered) and dragging them into the light of fruition. The practical outcome of this process is that I now have a desktop with five Word docs sitting on it – one of poetry, one of haiku, one a children’s picture book, one of short stories and, finally, the second installment of the Few and Far Between trilogy.

If nothing else it is a cathartic cataloguing and helps my increasingly crowded brain dump some clutter. I’m hoping it is more than this and fulfils my ultimate aim – to share writing that entertains, helps or intrigues others.
